On Friday, the U.S. jobless rate dropped unexpectedly in January to 8.3 percent, the lowest level
since February 2009.  According to the Labor Department, the economy added 243,000 jobs….

As in the gold market, the silver market was under pressure as a result of surprisingly good US
payroll data. While the trade was probably warranted in downgrading the prospects of QE, it might
be difficult to see the silver trade and other physical commodity markets…

Like gold, silver was undermined by a better than expected payroll result and by talk that US QE3
might not be in the near term cards….

January was an impressive month for the markets.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased
3.4 percent, while the Standard & Poor?s 500 gained 4.4 percent.  It was the biggest

March silver prices broke out above its recent congestion zone today and rallied to its best level
